From Monday, Sept. 21st, until Friday, Sept. 25th, Franco and I joined “UddannelsesKaravanen” (= the Education Caravan) on behalf of CELF – The Academy to promote their Multimedia Design line. We visited high schools all across Region Sjælland.

Web Showcase: CSS Wonderland

This portfolio website was made to show what can be done with CSS. CSS can be used for a lot more than just static page layouts or font styling. Used right, it can be a powerful tool for creating rapid, responsive interactivity, and thus improving the usability of any website.

But why use CSS when Flash is so readily available? Close to instant loading time for once (no annoying loading bars or update windows). And complete separation between content and design – the design of the website can be overhauled without touching any of the content.

BernbomHansen: From Idea to Live Concert

Market research, name and logo design, web design, printed posters, flyers, and business cards, internet promotion through social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and BandBase — in other words: the whole package.

Søren Bernbom, singer of the hit song “Joanna”, and the musician and multi-artist Franco Hansen, decided to join forces in early Summer, 2009. They wanted to do a live concert together. And for that, they needed a manager and branding-consultant, which was where I came in.

Below are a few examples of the final promotion products:

The promotion kit also included a 50×70cm poster, an 20×30 mini-poster, and business cards with booking information.

The website was made using php, xhtml, Flash, and css. It provided background information about the band, and news about upcoming shows. Furthermore, it served as a jumping point for visitors to join the band’s social networking site on Facebook, MySpace, and BandBase.

Already during the first couple of days after launching the online campaign, fans started to join the facebook page. It was a valuable tool for creating awareness through direct communication between the fans and the band itself.

Design Showcase: Event Brochure for an Idea House Entrepreneurship Seminar

The program for the seminar “Den Internationale Dimension i Entrepreneurship-undervisning” is an A5 format brochure, designed for IDEA Sjælland and the Øresund Etrepreneurship Academy. They wanted a design that would fit with their theme – bringing in an international dimension in entrepreneurship educations.

After presenting some preliminary design suggestions, they settled on the ‘reflected globe’ design.
